An amazing vintage tin of 12 nibs by French nibmeisters Gilbert & Blanzy-Poure. Please note that these wonderful little tins really are vintage - between at least 60 and 85 years old! - and are slightly distressed, showing natural signs of ageing such as rust spots. The nibs inside, though also original, are in pristine unused condition due to a light protective coating, so wash gently in soapy water before use.
The Blanzy-Poure company started in 1881, and in 1945 merged with the Gilbert Pencil Company to form Gilbert & Blanzy-Poure. These nibs are the "Babillarde Cémentée" design (no. 2770). The nib has a smooth, ball-shaped point which is fairly rigid and suitable for normal writing with a a dip pen.
