Puccini Opera Fountain Pen Ink

Puccini's operas have been the soundtrack of Scriptum for the past twenty years and they have inspired us to present a unique range of beautiful new products.

In celebration of one hundred years of Puccini's life and work, we have commissioned our UK ink supplier, Diamine, to create four fountain pen inks based on his most renowned operas.

Each shade has been carefully selected, and is exclusive to Scriptum.

Turandot: This muted red shade represents the 'noble blood' required of Turandot's potential suitor. Turandot asks her second riddle, "What flares warm life a flame, yet it is no flame?" Calaf correctly answers, "Blood".

Tosca: Tosca feels betrayed by her love, Cavaradossi, and accuses him of painting another woman - which he is - only the woman in question is Mary Magdalene. This shade of green represents Tosca's jealousy.

La Bohème: This tragic opera is represented by a dark grey shade, to reflect its themes of loss and poverty, as well as the colour of rainy Paris.

Madama Butterfly: This shade was created to reflect the floral themes throughout the opera. In the famous aria 'Un bel dì, vedremo', Madame Butterfly mentions the pet name Pinkerton gave her, "Verbena".

80ml sold individually

These Puccini Opera Fountain Pen Inks can also be purchased as a boxed set.
